FIRESTARTERS Steam Deck, Controller and Platform Support
Separate official Windows and single-player support from unverified Steam Deck compatibility, community Proton suggestions, and controller feature requests.
Which platforms can you rely on the official listing for?
The Steam store data marks Windows support and does not mark native macOS or Linux support. The product page lists single-player. For a Windows purchase, compare your system against the hardware requirements rather than assuming an unsupported platform works through a compatibility layer.
| Question | What the reviewed official evidence supports |
|---|---|
| Windows PC | Listed platform |
| Native macOS or Linux build | Not listed |
| Single-player | Listed feature |
| Multiplayer or PvP | Not confirmed by the listing |
| Native gamepad support | Not confirmed in the reviewed official data |
| Steam Deck compatibility | No verified setup established here |
Is there a verified Steam Deck launch procedure?
Not in the sources reviewed. A player’s direct Steam Deck question has no developer-provided recipe in the captured thread. An older Deck OLED demo report describes a Vulkan startup error despite trying several Proton versions, but that does not prove the current release behaves identically.
Do not turn isolated Linux or Proton comments into a guaranteed launch option, compatibility rating, or frame-rate promise. A recipe needs a named game build, device, OS and test result before it is useful purchase advice.
Does a controller request mean support is planned?
No. The Full Controller Support thread and a second request document player interest. They do not contain a developer release commitment in the captured material. A player’s suggestion to map a controller to keyboard and mouse is also different from native gamepad support.
If you require a controller, check the current store features and developer announcements before buying. Keyboard-layout trouble is addressed separately in the keybind guide.
Is PvP the same thing as leaderboards?
No. Steam lists leaderboards, while players requesting PvP are asking for another feature. Competitive scores do not establish real-time matches. The Arcade page explains the confirmed score-submission mode.
Official metadata and original player discussions checked November 2, 2026. Requests and compatibility experiments are attributed separately from supported features.
